Everything you need to write about NacatamalOn: what it is, in one sentence and in a paragraph, the basic facts and the logos ready to download.

What it is

NacatamalOn is a 2D and 3D game engine for the web with the look of the consoles from the SNES to the GameCube.

NacatamalOn is a 2D and 3D game engine for the browser, written in TypeScript. It draws with WebGPU where there is one and with WebGL2 where there is not, so a game made with it runs in any browser with nothing to install.

It is built for the look of the consoles of the 90s and early 2000s: short palettes, dithering, exact pixels, vertex lighting, fog, and the PlayStation's shivering vertices and affine textures. Those traits are not a filter on top; they are what the engine does best.

A scene is a function that asks for what it needs with hooks, and what it makes is data you can change. The engine is open source under the MIT licence.

The name

It is written NacatamalOn, with a capital N and O. The nacatamal is a traditional dish from Nicaragua, and in the logo the N is a universe with the nacatamal in orbit. The npm package is called nacatamalon, all lowercase.
